THAGU SUITES (1000 sq.ft)
The suite is a perfect example of a modern accomodation combining traditional influences. The exposed bricks add an earthiness and russet warmth to the rooms. The design is such that, there is a feeling of smooth flux within inner and outer spaces. The wide panels of glass in the northern side, separating the outer spaces with the inner one, connect them visually. The northern side provides a panoramic view of the Himalayan range. All the living quarters face south, to catch the winter sun and traditional skirt roof shields the windows from the slanting rain. The kitchens and bathrooms are bright and elegantly simple, and furnished with all the modern amenities. The floor is done in local ‘telia’ tiles which provide not just good insulation, but also give an earthy traditional feel.
